All About Scarves!

Scarves aren’t just another thing to layer on to keep you warm when you’re going skiing or out to shovel snow…there are a million and one different types of scarves from infinity, blanket, summer, men’s…and a million and one different ways to wear them. Over the past year, I’ve learned a lot about accessorizing with scarves and it’s gradually become a key staple in my wardrobe. Scarves are such a quick, easy, and affordable way to add a dash of fun and color to your look.

I’d like to share with you just two of my favorite scarves.

The picture on the right is a scarf that I love so much and wear all the time.  You can make any plain t-shirt go from drab to fab with this scarf. It’s lightweight, lots of colors, and very inexpensive. And just throw it in the washer to clean, lay flat to dry…and voila! The scarf I have on is currently out of stock.  I will let you know when it’s back in stock.  But you can find similar ones here, here, or here.

How about blanket scarves? I bought a blanket scarf and SOOOO wanted to love it as they are all the rage lately. But on a 5’ tall…..or should say 5′ “short” person, I felt like I was drowning in plaid fabric. I watched a lot of you tube videos and tried it a lot of different ways. Nope….still looked sloppy and overwhelming. Had an idea…my feet are so small that I can wear kids shoes (talk about that another time)….so why not see if they make kid-sized blanket scarves. It was perfect. And bonus, much cheaper! It was a win-win situation for me. Shop below kid-sized blanket scarf here

So what do I do with my other huge blanket scarf? See below. It makes a perfect blanket to cuddle under as I watch a movie (see Sincerely Amy’s blog yesterday on Let’s Go To The Movies).

PS – There is one scarf in particular that I left out on purpose in this post.   And that’s because this one “mind-blowing” scarf deserves a post all in its own and will be a joint post between all 4 Sincerely Us girls. You definitely want to stay tuned for more Sincerely Us.

  1. Thank you for the kid-sized scarf tip from another say 5′ “short” gal! I have shied away from the blanket scarf trend for the same reason – I may have to give it a try now 🙂

I’m looking forward to more “short girl ” fashion tips!

  2. I was wondering where the mention of your FAVORITE scarf was and then I saw the hint at a separate future blog post! This makes sense since at least two of you are sporting the scarf in diff pics on the blog!!

  3. I am so not fashionable at all, but I do love to wear scarves!! I love the ones you linked to, and I think I might know which scarf you are going to talk about in anothe post… I think it’s ones I’ve had my eye on?!?

    • You are very welcome and thank you. So glad you found them useful!

  4. NEVER thought about kid-size blanket scarves! That’s brilliant. I feel like I’m drowning in mine too- and I’m 5 ft 7!! Love the scarves you linked. Not too pricey, either! THANK YOU!

  5. AMEN to scarves!! As a matter of fact, I have one on today! Since we pretty much love the same things, I love your scarf (and entire outfit) in the first photo. You have to let me know where you got it. Or if you would like to mail it to me to borrow, as we love to do, that will work too! Can’t wait for your next blog 🙂

    • The scarf I have on in first pic is out of stock but I have a few similar ones in my blog. I’ll be sure to let you know when it’s been restocked!

  6. You are adorable. So cute. I loved this post. I have a feeling what that very special scarf may be. It may be worn by some of your ladies in your blog photos???

  7. Amy got me hooked on my Vinyasa wrap from Lululemon! I’m still learning how to wear it, but it’s quickly become a favorite! And since you can wear it 12+ different ways, it’s only a few dollars/scarf! That’s what I tell my husband anyway…:)

  8. Love the blog so far. Thanks for inspiring me to add a scarf to my outfit today!
